On April 8, 2014 a Deluxe edition of the album was released as a 2CD plus DVD set. The first CD was the original album, the second CD a collection of out-takes, and the DVD Building the Wrecking Ball - a documentary insight into the making of the album. This film had aired on PBS TV some time after the album had been released and contains brief footage of Kate and Anna in New Orleans. A few seconds rehearsal, a full run through of Blackhawk with Emmylou on vocal, Daniel Lanois on electric mandolin, and Kate on piano; and finally a brief clip of a vocal rehearsal of Goin' Back to Harlan featuring Kate, Anna and Emmylou. Although the latter song appears on both CDs in the deluxe release of the album there is no McGarrigles contribution. A note for the sake of completeness: prior to the original album release a six track promotional CD had been circulated to radio stations. This CD also contained an interview with Emmylou Harris, and was also entitled Building the Wrecking Ball. There was no McGarrigles content on this CD.
