The Bluenose was a famous Canadian schooner - later commemorated on both stamp and coin - built in 1921 for both racing and fishing. A number of songs were written about her - either called Bluenose or The Bluenose - and this can cause an element of confusion. Some of the more famous alternates are those written by Stan Rogers and Michael Stanbury.
